Matthew J Longay

Matthew was born and raised in rural Ontario. He attended York University for his bachelor’s degree, before receiving his juris doctor from the University of British Columbia in 2012.

After completing his articles, Matthew began practicing law in Ontario in 2014, and then in British Columbia in 2015. Since becoming a lawyer, Matthew has been solely engaged in litigation work; including criminal, civil, and constitutional litigation, and has appeared as counsel at all levels of court in British Columbia, and in all trial-level courts in Ontario. Matthew has successfully represented clients accused of all varieties of criminal and regulatory offences, and has doggedly pursued justice for his clients when their Charter rights have been infringed.

Matthew’s practice is dedicated primarily to criminal defence and related administrative cases.
